Six Students on the Path to Paella
by September 10, 2010
First class this autumn! I was up until 2 AM preparing stocks and up at 7 AM. Look like hell but so excited about today. We have six students here for the Path to Paella. Two of the students are vegetarians so had to make a special stock of grilled vegetables which came out very nice. The weather is perfect and in the square they are preparing for a Medieval Market so it will lots of excitement. Gotta run I am being yelled at for being on the computer and not setting up!
CLASS OVER What a wonderful group today. They all got along so well and had a blast. We went through the material sand then went on our way to buy ingredients for their Paella.
We had two vegetarians and they made an amazing vege version. I love watching the students have the experience negotiating with the shop vendors and experiencing a bit of life and culture here in our little village.
This group was fast at the prep of their paella and lunch was ready right at 2:00! There was one disaster and that was on my part. I allowed the water to boil in the bain marie for the flan and the texture was wrong. See what happens when you stay up until 2 AM cooking and wake up at 6 AM? The students feasted on Sopa de Ajo Blanco, Paella, Sangria, Salad, bread and flan. I posted all the photos on facebook under Casa Cebadillas. You HAVE to look and see what a blast they had! Better yet, come here and experience this yourself.
